Why use this audio merger?

Many online audio mergers upload every file to a server and make you wait. This audio merger works in your browser, so it’s private and there’s no upload time. Files with different formats, sample rates or mono and stereo sound are matched automatically, so the joined file plays smoothly from start to finish. The total length is shown as you add files.

How the audio merger works

Different audio formats store sound in different ways. This tool uses FFmpeg, the free, open-source engine behind many professional audio apps, to read each file, bring them all to the same quality settings, and join them end to end into one new file. Everything happens on your own device.

Tips for joining audio files

  • Select all your files at once. On the first screen you can choose several files together, and the audio merger opens with all of them ready to arrange.
  • Trim first, then join. If a recording has silence or mistakes at the start or end, clean it up with the audio trimmer before merging, so the joins sound smooth.
  • Even out the volume afterwards. Files recorded on different devices can have different loudness. After joining, use Keep editing this file and the Volume tool’s Even out option to make the whole thing consistent.
  • Pick the right format. MP3 plays everywhere and keeps the file small. Choose WAV or FLAC if you plan to edit the joined file further.
  • Check each part. Use the play button next to each file to make sure you have the right recordings in the right order before you press Join.

The finished file starts with the first file in the list and plays each file in turn, with no gaps added. The audio merger keeps the full length of every file you add.
