No. The text is recognised inside your browser. Your image never leaves your device. The OCR engine itself is downloaded the first time you use the tool.
How accurate is it?
Clear printed text in screenshots and scans is usually recognised very well. Photos taken at an angle, blurry or low-resolution images, unusual fonts and complex layouts give more mistakes. Always check the result.
Can it read handwriting?
Handwriting is not reliably recognised. The tool is designed for printed and typed text.
Which languages are supported?
English. More languages will be added after they have been tested.
Can it keep tables?
Yes. Choose Preserve Table Layout before extracting. The tool rebuilds rows and columns from the position of every word, lets you correct each cell, and downloads a real, editable Word table. Check the result: photos of tables and complex layouts may need corrections, and cells the tool is unsure about are highlighted.
Can I convert several images at once?
